ShipStation is a multi-carrier, multi-channel shipping platform designed to expedite the shipping process for your online business. With features such as batch shipping, discounted shipping rates, inventory and customer management, and custom branding, ShipStation has all of your small parcel shipping needs in one place.

Your ShipStation account can be integrated into your Swell account by following the steps below. If you do not have an existing ShipStation account you can create one here.

Within your ShipStation account, navigate to settings and select the selling channels option. You will be presented with the store setup page where you can connect a store or marketplace.

Under the connect options select "Custom Store".

A pop-up will appear for you to enter your store details.

Enter the following into the fields presented on the pop-up.

Your Swell store id and secret key can be found within your stores dashboard under settings>api.

  • URL to Custom XML Page: https://<store_id>
  • Username: <store_id>
  • Password: <secret_api_key>
  • Unpaid Status: payment_pending
  • Paid Status: delivery_pending
  • Shipped Status: complete
  • Cancelled Status: canceled
  • On-Hold Status: hold

Once the fields have been filled in select connect. The status on the store will feature a green check mark if connected correctly. To import orders to ShipStation, use the refresh arrow at the top right, and choose the selected store you wish to update.

The setup is now complete! ShipStation will grab orders from Swell and push tracking info back, which will automatically trigger shipping notification emails.
